Student Support Services
Buxton Primary School implements wellbeing support structures and programs which prioritise and address the identified needs of individual students or the school as a whole.
We participate in and promotes the following wellbeing programs and approaches:
- Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships
- The Berry Street Education Model
- Student of the Week Awards
- Transition Programs – Kindergarten to school, Year 6 to Year 7
- Leadership roles for senior students
We also provide support through:
- Child Safe Policy and Standards
- Monitoring of and responding to protracted student absences
- Trauma informed practices
- Protocols for mandatory reporting
- Student Support Groups (SSGs) for students in need
The school also has access to outside services to provide support for students, staff and families:
